BARW Training Seminar Held

Bradley Arant hosted a training session for clients on the requirements of the Privacy Provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA") as they apply to group health plans. The clients who attended the session are large emplyers who sponsor group health plans for their emplyees. The HIPAA privacy rules are effective April 14, 2003, and impose a number of new requirements on group health implementation of the HIPAA provacy rules, including development of policies and procedures, privacy notices, plan amendments, and training of employees who administer the group health plan.
