Located in a state full of Southern heritage and hospitality, Charlotte, North Carolina has a rich culture which includes warm people, mild and enjoyable weather, and magnificent dining, all of which have been staples in the Charlotte area since its beginning in the 18th century. However, Charlotte is not simply focused on the past. It is rapidly developing, rated 25th on the MSA's Fastest Growing Cities study. With a mix of leading employers ranging from banks to energy corporations to healthcare, the diversity of Charlotte's economy is allowing it to expand better than ever before.

Charlotte, however, is not all work and no play. The city offers fun for residents and visitors alike with its various entertainment options. One could take in an NBA or WNBA basketball game, an NFL football game, an AAA baseball game, a hockey game, or a NASCAR race at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. If a sporting event is not on the agenda, Charlotte also has several museums, including a science museum, a mint museum, and a museum of the new south. The arts are also an integral part of Charlotte society. There is the Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. There are also many theatres and play houses showcasing performances of old favorites along with new productions which are sure to please. With this variety of activities from which to choose, people in Charlotte rarely struggle to find something to do.
